Calling all gorgeous gardens
The Festival Committee is currently looking for any & all fabulous gardens that might be available to show in the festival in 2017. We are looking at all manner of gardens –from suburban backyards to extensive lifestyle blocks.
The Rotorua Festival of Gardens is held every two years and has operated for over 20 years. It is organised by volunteers who promote the event, sell the tickets and donate the income to the community. In 2015 we raised $25,000 for the Rescue Helicopter through 45 gardens being open.
It is with this solid background in place that the Committee begins planning for the next Festival with energy and commitment.
-Our next step – we are calling for registrations at present; gardens are considered by the Committee.
-Your next step – register your interest – call our Garden Liaison, Monica on 07 348 0628.
Thank you for your consideration – perhaps you have friends too with equally beautiful gardens – we’d be happy to make contact with them.

Its been such a warm wet winter -but the gardens are beginning to think its spring. You cant have enough pots with bulbs at this time of year!
The Rotorua Festival of Gardens Committee is starting to rev up in anticipation of the 2017 Festival. Our first job is the AGM. We are always in need of good people -whether as a committee member or as a volunteer for some of those endless necessary tasks.
This year we will be at the Rotorua CT Club on Moncur Drive -in the Rimu Room.
Sunday 21st August 2016 for a 2.30pm start.
We will have the essential cup of tea or coffee ready -with some nibbles, so if at all possible please RSVP in advance to give the caterers an idea of numbers :- Carol at ‘firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to seeing you there.
Garden number G7
Unfortunately this garden has had to be withdrawn from this year’s Rotorua Festival of Gardens due to unforeseen circumstances.
Our apologies for any inconvenience – hopefully it will be back in next time.
Over 45 gardens will be open over the 3 days – Friday 13th to Sunday 15th November 2015
The Rotorua Festival Gardens is held every 2 years. This year we have many new gardens as well as some of the old favourites.
Self-guided garden ramble
The Rotorua Festival of Gardens is a self-guided garden ramble where you can choose which of the gardens to visit at any time over the 3 days. When purchasing a ticket you will receive a booklet listing all the gardens and detailed maps to help you find them. Many of the gardens will also have items for sale – plants, food, artworks (on a cash only basis).
Variety of gardens to enjoy
Gardens vary in size from small city gardens to large rambling country gardens. Some are a labour of love for their dedicated owners, and others are professionally designed and maintained to perfection. All show what can be achieved and provide ideas and inspiration for others to enjoy.
Tickets are $30 for a 3 day pass (plus $2.50 p&p for mail orders) and children under 14 are free. For more details on ticketing visit www.rotoruagardens.org.nz
